Northside Hospital’s Healthcare Exploring Program

Northside Hospital is pleased to invite students to participate in an exciting program that will give them a unique opportunity to learn about various careers in the healthcare industry. Exploring is an affiliate program with the Boy Scouts of America and a co-ed career education program. The Exploring program exposes youth to various careers of interest they may consider pursuing in their future. In the Northside Hospital Exploring Program, students gain real life experiences and specialized knowledge in the field of healthcare.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
During this unprecedented seven month program, students will experience different areas of the hospital through lectures and hands-on exercises. Sessions will be held at multiple Northside locations including Forsyth, Alpharetta and Atlanta. High school sophomores, juniors and seniors are invited to apply for this special program. Approximately 25 students will be accepted into the program in order to maximize hands-on experiences.

Northside’s Explorer Program will give students the opportunity to interact with physicians, nurses and medical technologists in a number of different specialty fields.  Attendance at all classes is mandatory for graduation, so if there is a scheduling conflict on any of the dates, please do not apply. High school students in grades 10-12 interested in a career in healthcare are eligible. Students must have their own transportation to each class.
